Paradigm Shift is a small-but-growing web design company in Topeka, KS, that provides web design, site 're-design', custom graphics, and logo development for personal and small business websites.

Founded in 1999 by Washburn University students Shane Gliser and Jacin Bailes, Paradigm Shift began as a way for two college roommates to be able to make a little extra spending money and use their computers for something other than video games and research papers.

Shane, an actual computer science major, took care of the 'back end' software programming. Jacin, a music major with an affinity for aesthetics and artistic design and just enough self-taught web design knowledge to be dangerous, made things 'look pretty'.

In the intervening years, Paradigm Shift has grown and changed substantially. Since graduating from college, both Shane and Jacin have 'grown up' (though neither will readily admit to it), gotten married, and started families.

Shane has moved to Kansas City, working as a software and Java developer for several major firms, while starting a new initiative of his own. Jacin, while holding down a 'real job' with the Federal government, has continued to teach himself new things in web-design and Paradigm Shift continues to provide a bit of extra income for his family, as well as an outlet for his creative urges.
